Overview

dérive is a place-saving app. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Information We Collect

Account information: your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth).

Spots and notes: the places you save and any personal notes you attach to them. This data is associated with your account and stored on our servers.

Location data: if you enable proximity alerts, dérive accesses your device location in the background to notify you when you are near a saved spot. Location data is used only to trigger notifications and is not stored on our servers.

Payment information: if you subscribe to dérive Pro, payments are processed by Apple. We do not store your card details.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve dérive — syncing your saved spots across devices, sending proximity notifications you have opted into, and processing subscription payments. We do not use your data for advertising.

Third-Party Services

dérive uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database and authentication • Apple App Store — payment processing • Google Maps / Places API — place search and map display • Anthropic — AI-generated spot descriptions (place data only, no personal information)

Each service operates under its own privacy policy.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at kevin@ourderive.com.

Children

dérive is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
